Goldstein Lecture Series - Melissa Deckman, Flavio Hickel, and Eric McDaniel

The Goldstein Lecture series hosted Melissa Deckman, Flavio Hickel, and Eric McDaniel for a talk on “How Gender, Race & Ethnicity will shape the 2020 Presidential Race.” The event, which was held on zoom on Thursday, October 15th, began with some concrete data regarding voting amongst different groups such as women, Latinx voters, and Black voters. Each lecturer shared their data on their given topic and then opened up the discussion for those in attendance to ask questions. Some students had questions about generational differences in voting, and how to get more young voters to come out to vote. This timely event brought together many members of the Washington College community and fostered some interesting conversations surrounding the upcoming election.
