Steve Kornacki

On April 1st, as part of the Thursdays at the Starr Center series, journalist and NBC News correspondent Steve Kornacki made a virtual visit to Washington College. Kornacki discussed the increasing political polarization in recent United States history and his 2018 book “The Red and the Blue: The 1990s and the Birth of Political Tribalism.” Kornacki shed some light on changes over time that have occurred in the process of determining election results on election nights comparing his experience from the beginning of his career to our current context. The event drew in many students from all disciplines as well as interested Chestertown and Kent County community members.
