Shifting Sails: Immigration Stories & Maryland’s Eastern Shore

As part of the Starr Center’s “Thursdays with the Starr Center” Series, Matthew Peters, who works for the Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center, made a virtual visit. Peters’ talk was centered around immigration and the immigrant demographics on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The talk then shifted to another guest, Ingrid Díaz Lopez, and her personal experience immigrating from Guatemala to the United States. The event, titled “Shifting Sails: Immigration Stories & Maryland’s Eastern Shore” added some local context to the national conversation surrounding immigration.
