Ted Widmer and "Lincoln on the Verge" - Thursdays with the Starr Center
Starr Center’s Adam Goodheart led a conversation involving Ted Widmer about his book, “Lincoln on the Verge,” at Thursday, February 18th’s, session at the Starr Center. Widmer opened with a powerpoint explaining what led to his book, including his childhood interest in Lincoln as well as his friendship and colleagueship with Adam Goodheart who authored the book 1861: The Civil War Awakening.Widmer highlighted some figures in American history that he wrote about in his book, such as Kate Warne, who gained insight in a plot against Lincoln and warned the president. The event concluded with a question and answer session led by Adam Goodheart and featuring the audience, made up of Washington College students and Chestertown community members.
