Earth Day Festival
On Saturday April 24th, Chestertown celebrated Earth Day downtown with a festival. In addition to the normal Saturday farmer’s market, there was an information booth, free recycling, and an energy efficient Tesla shown off. There was also a tractor full of recycled materials. Anybody was allowed to guess how much each bale weighed. The winners received gift cards to local restaurants such as Bad Alfreds. Another feature of the festival was the art show in the bank. Near the end of the festival, a live band performed. About double the amount of people that come to the normal Saturday affairs were in attendance to celebrate and appreciate our Earth.
