Every semester, Washington College Review publishes students’ academic writing in a digital issue curated by its editorial team. The journal seeks to encapsulate the values of Washington College’s writing program. The publication’s spring issue features works written for W1, W2, and W3 courses; its fall issue features seniors’ W4 senior capstone projects. Volume XXX, Issue 1 of WCR was published online on Monday, May 1. On Tuesday, May 2 from 5 to 6 p.m., WCR’s editorial board and Director of Writing, Dr. Sean Meehan, the publication’s faculty advisor, hosted a launch party for issue contributors and their friends. Attendees enjoyed refreshments and mingled amongst themselves. Later, contributors were given the opportunity to read an excerpt from or summary of their published work.

Freshman Hannah Pacholok presents on her essay, which argues that dance can be seen as a universal language.
