On February 16th, there was the opportunity to join a conversation with African American Alumni in a fire side chat program designed to provide current students with an opportunity to engage alumni around topics of identity, culture, equity, and inclusion at Washington College. The evening was designed to help students further think about their own experiences at Washington College as well as learn about experiences that may be similar from you, and how you navigated those experiences. During the first forty minutes of the program the moderator asked candid and poignant questions about what it was like to identify with Black culture as a student at Washington College, a predominantly White Institution.

Students and alumni interacted very closely in the discussion.

The event included alumni of Washington College, including Christine Lincoln, a winner of the Sophie Kerr Prize, seated on the right.

#WACLikeMe was designed to increase awareness of race and diversity on campus.

Staff and guests enjoyed refreshments before the event.

Alumni Coordinator, Jenny Hutton, introduced the alumni and got the conversation started.
