Truth Tellers Screening followed by Necessary Trouble Opening Reception
April 6th, 2023
Coverage by Iris Scherr ‘25
To encourage diversity on campus, on Thursday, April 6th at 6:00 p.m., senior Michelle Henry partnered with Director of the Rose O’ Neill Literary House Dr. James Allen Hall, and historian Dr. Goodheart, to bring a documentary screening on the history of the hardships of various minorities and how art can impact this over time in Decker theatre. The feature showed 20 activist portraits, based on current people advocating for change. Some of the various issues covered were on topics such as racism, homophobia, colonialism, climate change, and misogyny. Sponsored by the William James Fund, this event helped people recognize their privileges and gave them a chance to help the campus community come together to understand how they can make a positive change.
