Luke (Maddi Mulder ‘25) and Percy (Evan Paddock ‘27) fight.

Percy (Evan Paddock ‘27) tells Mr. D (Josh Torrence ‘24) to “eat my pants!”

The trio finds their way to the underworld where the dead dance with them and where Charon (Asia Elliot ‘24) warns them that they are D.O.A!

This Killer Quest couldn’t have gone better. With flashing lights and rocking songs, the Departments of Theatre, Dance, and Music came together to present Matt Brader ‘24’s stupendous SCE: The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. The musical is based off of the middle grade book series Percy Jackson and The Olympians written by acclaimed and New York Times bestselling author Rick Riordan. Starring in the role of Percy Jackson himself was Evan Paddock ‘27, in the role of Annabeth Chase, Kaitlyn Mankevich ‘27, and in the role of Grover Underwood, Jasmine Schaffer ‘27. The show was directed by Abbey Wark ‘18, produced and lighting designed by Matt Brader ‘24, and stage managed by Sophia Rooks ‘23. The show ran from Thursday, April 4th to Saturday April 6th in Decker Theatre. It was the largest and first full-scale production in Decker and was sold out on both Friday and Saturday. The silly songs, strong messages, and witty dialogue had the audience laughing and crying (probably simultaneously) as the actors performed one of the most beloved stories of the 20th century.

Scene from “Prologue/The Day I got expelled” where company warns Percy (Evan Paddock ‘27) to stay alert and study, or else the monsters will get him!

Clarrise (Stevie Lyles ‘26) calls for the campers to play Capture the Flag.
