On Thursday, October 30th, Washington College students collaborated with Dr. Emerald Andrews in a clothing-alteration event called “That’s Sew You.” The workshop was held in Larabee Art Center from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Students could paint, bleach, mend, and add patches to their own articles of clothing. Andrews gave a small lecture beforehand about gender identity and the role that clothing and personal styles plays in how people experience gender. The event was a beautiful extension of the Kohl Gallery exhibition The Rose Garden Green Room.
