Small Craft Guild
The Washington College Small Craft Guild was founded in 2011 by Zach Hall and members of the 2011 Chesapeake Semester. Their goal was to gain practical, hands-on knowledge and respect of traditional boatbuilding techniques as they were used on iconic Chesapeake Bay vessels, such as the Skipjack. Currently, the SCG is building a 16 ft. Cedar Strip Canoe from scratch and hopes that the funds gained from its sale will sustain the club’s next, hopefully bigger, project.
