Nature and writing have always been connected. To foster young writers on campus, the English and Environmental departments of Washington College partnered to host a workshop with a poet named Rajiu Mohabir. The shuttles were available to students to take them where the workshop was located: the nature center. Once there, Mohabir gave students instructions to explore the forest and wetlands outside. Then, he told them to find an article online. Thus, after both these things were finished, he told students to write about those two things. This helped students practice writing the “self” and practice writing about nature. The event was on November 14th and started at 2:30 p.m.
