On Saturday, October 7th, The Starr Center hosted a quill and ink workshop open to students and members of the Chestertown community. It was located in the Customs House in downtown Chestertown. Associate Director of Experiential Learning & Programming, Victoria Barnett-Woods, invited Living Historian Ben Bartigis to teach students how to cut their own quills, make ink, and how to seal a letter. Chestertown residents were included as well. There, participants could try calligraphy with their new writing devices and seal their letters with real wax and fire. The workshop lasted from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and lunch followed the activities.
