Elephant toothpaste explosion!
Tiyaba leads the freeze dried pumpkin demonstration.
The chemistry department, along with ACS, celebrated their annual pumpkin explosion event on October 25th. The event was open to the public and was very popular, especially with younger children. Before the actual explosion, there were a variety of demonstrations that happened in the toll atrium, one of which was the freeze-drying of a pumpkin. There were also pumpkins to paint, a bake sale with goodies, and a small demonstration in Litrenta of glow-in-the-dark liquid. The actual explosion, though, brought all the guests to the windows to watch as pumpkins exploded from the inside out and as elephant toothpaste sprayed into the air. An all-around enjoyable event.
