Poetry Reading by Erika Sanchez
November 12, 2018
On Monday, November 12, 2018, the Rose O’Neill Literary House hosted a reading by writer and poet, Erika Sanchez.
During the event, Sanchez read poems from her book ‘Lessons on Expulsion’, which includes poems that deal with female bodily autonomy, deportation, and rejection in general. After the reading, Sanchez answered questions on her own poetry/fiction as well as the process of writing itself.
Along with the reading, Sanchez signed broadside copies of her poems ‘A woman runs on the first spring’. Copies of her poetry book and young adult novel ‘I’m not your perfect Mexican daughter’ were also sold.
