Projects

Green Marina

  • This is the second year that Enactus worked on their Green Marina Project. They worked with two marinas to help them become certified as a “Clean Marina” under Maryland’s Clean Marina Initiative. Doing so involves analysis of the marina as it currently is and deciding what needs to be changed for it to qualify as a “Clean Marina.”

Neighbors for Good

  • This is the third year that Enactus has worked on their Neighbors for Good Project. This project fosters new relationships between all campus organizations and local non-profit groups. It integrates the college organizations’ service projects into our local Kent County.

Career Expo

  • Enactus partnered with the Washington College Center for Career Development to host two Career Expos, one in February and a second in March. They also sponsored small trips to off-campus career fairs to see larger companies on larger campuses.

Shoremarketing

  • Shoremarketing was Enactus’s newest project, which they launched for the first time this year. Their goal was to help local not-for-profit organizations with their marketing and advertising in order to gain more support for their cause.

Let’s Can Hunger

  • This was the first year that Washington College has ever reached its goal of completing the Campbell’s Let’s Can Hunger challenge of raising 5,000 cans in an effort to combat hunger.

Garden Boxes

  • Enactus’s goal with this project was to distribute 80 garden boxes in order to provide mobile gardening for Chestertown residents who do not necessarily have the time or space to have a personal garden, but want to conserve money by growing their own vegetables.

Enactus thanks:

  • WAC Dining Hall

  • Local churches

  • Kent County Food Pantry

  • and local service organizations
