As a part of Latinx heritage month, Associate Professor of Spanish and Director of the Black Studies Minor Dr. Elena Deanda-Camacho and dancer, activist, and social community leader Kevin Lamarr Jones along with a plethora of Washington College students participated in a flash mob in Matha Washington Square on October 7, 2021. The group gathered at 5:30 in Martha Washington Square as music echoed down the Cater Walk. It was quite the spectacle as the group broke out into dance, both ones who had rehearsed previously in their Spanish classes and those that just wanted to join in on the fun spontaneously. Dr. Deanda-Camacho said, “We just wanted to get people to dance, to learn about Latin American dances, and to have some fun together.”
