In celebration of International Education Week, the Global Education Office on campus held a variety of events from November 15th through 19th. The week started off with a “Chalk the Walk” event where exchange and domestic students were able to decorate the Cater Walk with their country’s flag as well as their favorite sayings in their native language. Tuesday brought on TED Talk-style presentations from the exchange students so that those that attended were able to learn more about their own universities that partner with Washington College. On Thursday, a World Cultural Festival was held in the Hodson Goosenest with different national desserts made by students from various international backgrounds. The festival included treats from different countries such as tembleque from Puerto Rico, halwa from India, chak-chak from Uzbekistan, picarones from Peru, donut holes from Canada, and cookies from Germany. It was a great way for students to get a sampling of different desserts from all over the world right here at Washington College. Finally, to close out the week, The Foster House hosted a happy hour with coffee and cookies. At the happy hour, students took Polaroid pictures to be displayed on their world map.

Students pin polaroids on the map to show where they are from.
