On Saturday, October 7th the Student Events Board and Student engagement hosted the annual Homecoming Dance, previously known as Shoremal, from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. This year’s theme was Barbenheimer, a combination of movies “Oppenheimer” and “Barbie” which was released over the summer. Decorations consisted of black and pink flowers, balloons, bubble machines, pink lights, glowsticks, and streamers. At the entrance was a sign that read “Let’s Go Party!” The event was DJed by Buck Nasty, who also works as a chef for Hodson. The evening began with songs by The Killers and Fallout Boy, and ended with rap. There was a quiet tent with toys and gift bags on all the tables for students to take with them. The event was well-attended, and many students dressed to the theme.
A sign at the entrance to the dance allows the perfect opportunity for pictures.
