On October 27th and 28th, from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m., the Student Events Board hosted its annual haunted house in Middle Hall. This year’s theme was the SCP foundation, otherwise known as secure, contain, protect, and it was a fake organization dedicated to containing its monsters. The event was executed by the Annual and Special committees of Student Events Board (SEB), and it was headed by senior Emily Bechtel and sophomore Keegan Enzor. The first floor remained lighted with the overheads, with a secretary’s desk being the first thing participants saw. The second floor was dark, covered in fake blood and slime. Students, both members of SEB and not, dressed up as different SCPs. Some most notably were the Daughter of Darkness or Shadows, a ghost, a wolf, the Plague Doctor, SCP 69, and the Contortionist, and also featured a secretary and a doctor. Screams could be heard all the way at Cullen, and students seemed genuinely terrified. The actors of the house, though battling the heat, also enjoyed scaring students. A successful and spooky event that is sure to reoccur next year.
