Hae Won Sohn Artist’s Talk

Juror for 100 Proof artist Hae Won Sohn gave an Artist’s Talk on March 24th at 4:00 p.m. in the Larrabee Arts Center. She is a visual artist and craftswoman from Seoul, South Korea, but is currently based in Baltimore, Md. As an artist, she said she utilizes objects from her studio processes such as damaged molds or leftover project materials to create new pieces, each with its own unique look. “I really love my art, it takes me places I never expected to go,” Sohn said during the talk. After showing many of her old pieces, works from her exhibits, and projects made at home, the floor was opened up for questions.

“Fraternal Centuplets,” a temporary installation of Hae Won Sohn’s that was located in Cranbrook Academy of Art Ceramics Department Crit Room that showcased more than 100 misshapen vessels.
