Events

  • Fall Family Weekend Cardboard Boat Regatta

    • This was the fourth year that H4H’s cardboard catamaran sailed the Chester. This year’s theme was “There’s No Place Like Home.”

  • Fall Break Trip

    • A small group of members travelled to Onancock, VA to do some interior work on Habitat homes, like hanging drywall, installing shelves, painting, etc.

  • Humane Society Work Weekend

    • The Habitat team, along with some other campus organizations, did some painting at the Kent County Humane Society

  • St. Martin’s House Work Weekend

    • The team did some work for St. Martin’s House, including sprucing up a playground and working on some sheds.

  • Hidden Treasures Work Weekends

    • Habitat partnered with Hidden Treasures, a local thrift store, to build some window boxes.

  •  Spring Break Trip

    • This year was the first that Habitat for Humanity was not able to return to their previous partners, Columbus Area Habitat for Humanity for the entirety of Spring Break. Instead, they traveled to Americus, Georgia, where they stayed in volunteer housing provided by Habitat for Humanity International and worked in Albany, Georgia alongside students from Juniata College and Ashland University. The team worked on building one house and finishing roofing and siding another. Before returning home, the team was able to spend some time in Columbus, finishing some houses that they worked on during the 2012 trip and attending their first home dedication.
