Gamer’s Guild

The Gamers’ Guild is a club dedicated to bringing you everything in video games. It does not confine itself to gamers who own video game consoles or high-tech computers. Members who play something as simple as farmville or as strategic as S.T.A.L.K.E.R. are welcomed on equal footing to this club.

The guild holds weekly game nights which involve the discussion, appreciation, and inevitable gaming of anything from the old school classic games of the seventies to the high-end modern era games of the twenty-first century. Meetings will also include musical interludes in which a song is played and members will have to guess which video game the song originates from.

This past year, Gamers’ Guild held a number of events. Their largest event was the Legend of Zelda Ball, which was a video game theme’d Birthday Ball celebrating the birth of Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Legend of Zelda as well as some of the greatest video game franchises of all time (including Mario, Donkey Kong, and Star Fox to name the most well known). Their second biggest event is the annual Super Smash Brothers Melee tournament, in which players show off their excellent skills at the aforementioned game. Other events include theme nights, when players play video games that fit certain themes, such as a Halloween theme or a retro theme.
