Dr. James Allen Hall Reading

Associate Director of the Literary House, Roy Kesey began the event by introducing Dr. James Allen Hall and their work, Romantic Comedy.

Dr. Hall answered questions about his work for any audience members that asked.

As a part of the Literary House Series, on Wednesday, October 18th at 6:00 p.m., Director of the Rose O’Neill Literary House, Dr. James Allen Hall participated in a poetry reading and book signing. The event opened with an introduction from Associate Director Roy Kesey. In his opening remarks, he quotes Louise Gluck, a favorite poet of Dr. Hall’s who had recently passed before the reading. Kesey expressed his admiration for Dr. Hall’s work which gave a great segue into the reading. Dr. Hall read from his newest book of poems, Romantic Comedy which is the winner of the Four Ways Levi’s Prize in Poetry. Throughout the reading, they would preface poems with the origin of them and then move into the reading. The poetry reading allowed audience members to get some insight into Dr. Hall’s writing process and their inspiration for certain poems. Audience members asked questions about their writing process, the cover art, and how long this collection took to compose. Following the reading, Dr. Hall signed copies of Romantic Comedy for those who had attended the reading.
