High street is taken over by the festival, with food stands, couches, bonfires, and lights.
Chestertown hosted its annual Dickens of a Christmas festival from December 6-8. The festival kicked off with food vendors and live music on Friday, with shops staying open late to allow holiday shoppers extra time to get their presents. There were bonfires lining the street, and comfy furniture brought out to allow people to sit outside and enjoy the event. Christmas carolers sang on side streets. On Saturday, there was a larger farmer’s market with more vendors selling wreaths and other Christmas items and there were book talks and other events that took place on the entire downtown street. Sunday was the last day, with wrap-up events. The festival was open to all and was free, so many students enjoyed this little bit of Christmas cheer before finals.
