Composting Workshop
September 21st, 2022
Despite the cloudy weather, professional composters Porter and Katie still came out from their very own company dedicated to helping the environment, to the Campus Garden on Friday, September 21st. At 3:00 p.m., students and Chestertown residents alike were offered snacks and drinks made out of things from Porter and Katie’s garden. This included protein bars, nuts, sunflower seeds, jalapeños, tea, and more! After that they started the work for the day. Instructed by Katie and Porter, people to dump out the compost and break it down. Volunteers then worked together to gather shovels, axes, and hoses to break the materials apart. Everyone seemed to have quite a good time, and it was nice to learn about ways people can protect the environment!
