Gorgeous voices filled the Hotchkiss Recital Hall for the Chorus and Cabaret Concert held on Wednesday, May 1st at 7:30 p.m. The event began with the choral portion as the W.C. Chorus took the stage to perform the songs that they have been working on throughout the spring semester. They performed multiple pieces conducted by both the director Professor J. Ernest Green, as well as a guest conductor, music major Kaitlyn McCaffery ‘24. In addition to the more traditional choral pieces, the chorus performed a rendition of “Man in the Mirror” with three soloists: Stevie Lyles ‘26, Asia Elliott ‘25, and Maddie Mulder ‘25. After the chorus was finished with their portion of the concert, students from the musical theater course were able to perform some of the songs that they have been working on learning. The songs ranged from show tunes like “Out There” from the Hunchback of Notre Dame and “Sexy” from Mean Girls: The Musical to pop music such as Ed Sheeran’s “All of the Stars.” The night was a great culmination of the work done in these music classes across the semester.
