Campus Garden Dedication

In one of the first events of Fall Family Weekend 2012, faculty, staff, and students gathered for the dedication of George’s Grove, the campus garden established by the Student Environmental Alliance.

Special guest alumna and former SEA President Amanda Pruzinsky ‘12 describes how the vision for the garden evolved.

In conclusion of the dedication, a fall perennial plant was placed in the ground to symbolize the self-renewing vitality of the garden. The crape myrtle attracts many beneficial insects to the garden.

Cara Murray ‘14 shares a speech about the importance of establishing an Environmental Studies honors society and pursuing new opportunities for the forest garden, such as aquaculture and livestock.

Habitat for Humanity, which helped to construct the shed and garden boxes, joins the Student Environmental Alliance for a celebratory photo.
