Cameron Awkward-Rich reads a poem.

Dr. Hall introduces Cameron Awkward-Rich.

On Tuesday, September 10th, the Rose O'Neill Literary House invited a poet named Cameron Awkward-Rich at 6 p.m. to campus. During which, the poet was invited to go read some of his work out loud. Instead of choosing something from one of his books, however, he read something new that he was working on. On top of reading his work in front of an audience, earlier that day he answered questions for the class of the Associate Professor of English and Director of the Rose O'Neill Literary House, Dr. James Hall. On top of this being an excellent event, Dr. Hall later remarked how Awkward-Rich was the first openly trans person to read at Washington College.

Student, class of 2028, shows off the book and poster she bought from Cameron Awkward-Rich after the reading.
