Librarian Andrea Boothby Rice introduced Bonnie Ford to the audience.
Three books were raffled off to attendees.
Made possible by the Phi Beta Kappa Speaker Series Grant, the Miller Library hosted sports journalist and author Bonnie Ford on Tuesday, March 19th in the Newlin Room. Ford formerly worked as a senior writer for ESPN. During her career, she covered major sporting events like the Olympics and March Madness among others. During her career, she had been able to meet and make a connection with Des Linden, winner of the Boston Marathon. Then, when Linden decided she wanted to find a ghostwriter for her memoir, she thought of Ford. From this connection, Choosing to Run: A Memoir was born. Throughout the talk, Ford discussed her sports journalism career and how it eventually led to her becoming a memoirist. She answered many audience questions about her career, and three of the books were raffled off to attendees.
