On Friday, September 12th, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Author and professor at Fordham University Tanya Katerí Hernández discussed her book “Racial Innocence: Unmasking Latino Anti-Black Bias and The Struggle for Equality” which shares insight on the complexities of racism. Students and staff at Washington College joined professor Hernández in The Newlin Room in The Miller Library for her lecture and subsequent Q&A and booksigning. She provided free copies of her book in English and Spanish for bilingual audience members. Afterwards, the group moved to The Golden Goose on-campus pub for dinner until 7:00 p.m.
