April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and each year in order to raise awareness for the cause, Alpha Chi Omega hosts their Walk-a-Mile event. This year, the walk took place on April 13th at 11:00 a.m. in Martha Washington Square. In the MWS, participants were able to pick out a pair of heels to wear to represent “walking the shoes of survivors.” The walk began in the Square, down the walkway towards Toll, down Campus Avenue, up Washington Avenue, and finally down the Cater Walk where all who walked were greeted by cheering members of AXO. 85% of proceeds made from admission into the event and raffle tickets went to For All Seasons, which is a rape crisis center serving Maryland’s Mid Shore with the other 15% going towards the AXO Foundation which supports programs for domestic violence awareness, their philanthropy.
Participants began in Martha Washington Square.
Parker Hayden ‘24 and Zack Gottemoller ‘27 begin the final stretch of the walk down the Cater Walk.
