What better way to celebrate the holidays that are getting nearer and nearer than an event hosted by the Music Department? A staged reading of A Grand Night for Singing on the 4th and 5th of November, with music written by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein, was a wonderful showcase with some of Washington College’s most talented singers and musicians. Directed by Visiting Assistant Professor of music Ernie Green, the show started at 7:30 in Hotchkiss Recital Hall. The musical features songs from a variety of popular Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals such as The King and I, Me and Juliet, Oklahoma, and Cinderella, just to name a few. These fantastic singers were able to bring life to the songs, much to the delight of the audience who packed the recital hall.

As the lights dim and the show comes to an end, the pianist closes out the night with a special performance.
